Meet the Founder
Hi! My name is Vianney Navarro, and I’m proud to be a graduate of South Gate High School’s Class of 2013. Giving back to my alma mater has always been a dream of mine, which is why I launched the Juntos Seguimos Avanzando Scholarship. This scholarship is designed to provide students with an additional resource to help them achieve their college and career goals. Its foundation is built on the belief that we’re all in this together, working collectively to support one another on our journeys.
A little more about me:
I grew up in South Gate, California, and have spent over six years working in the nonprofit andpublic university spaces across Los Angeles, Orange, and San Diego County. My work has focused on improving education programs and creating opportunities for high school students in underserved communities. Currently, I serve as the Program Coordinator for the Neurosciences Graduate Program at UC San Diego. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies from CSU Northridge and a Master’s in Education with a focus on Equity and Social Justice from CSU Long Beach.
